HAPPY DAYS
In 2020, Kohler directed an acclaimed production of Samuel Beckett’s HAPPY DAYS featuring Milwaukee’s Laura Gordon at Renaissance Theaterworks.

Speaking about the experience, Kohler says, “Directing HAPPY DAYS remains one of the highlights of my theater career – and Laura’s performance was magnificent.” She and Gordon are looking to recreate the production for other theater companies. In these times, the play seems even more poignant than when it was produced pre-pandemic. It does indeed speak to and from despair – but encourages us, nonetheless, with wit and pathos...to endure.
